Women Hair Transplant

Compared to men, hair loss in women occurs in multiple phases and generally in diffused stages. While in men there is a strong genetic pattern for hair loss, various underlying causes are there which play a major role for hair thinning in women.

Hair loss is every woman’s worst nightmare, as it depletes her beauty and sags her confidence immensely. A thorough disease specific medical evaluation is necessary for treating hair loss in women. A typical hair loss is observed in women during the menopausal period, when the reduced hair density is observed at the middle of the scalp which thins out laterally.

The great news for women is that, the female patterned hair loss can be treated successfully either by medication or by surgical means, and it has been confirmed by the leading dermatologists and clinics of the world. Every patient evaluated at our office undergoes a routine hormonal and medical evaluation for hair loss. A complete medical history and existing physical conditions of the patient are first sorted out by our expert dermatologists and consultants.

Diffuse hair loss might be a culmination of one or more of the following :

  • Chemical and pyro-burns; or other similar scalp injuries.
  • Mechanical traction or alopecia (non-hormonal factor)
  • Due to genetic reasons, having a distinct pattern of baldness.
  • Women who want to restructure their hairline.
  • Women who have experienced profuse hair loss after cosmetic procedures or face lift procedures.
There are basically two types of surgical procedures available for women opting for hair transplantation – The Strip Method and asimpler and less invasive method, The Follicular Unit Extraction Method (FUE).

Among the two, FUE is more desirable as it does not leave a linear scar at the back of the patient’s scalp. Neitherit involvessutures and staples. FUE has a reputation of making healing less complicated and the risk of bleeding and nerve damage is almost nil.
